When Your Props And Subject Are A Stark Contrast
Wait those two things don’t match
This is the first shoot in a series I am doing with Babyfaced models. When scouting models I was looking for very sweet looking faces and poses. This kind of shot gets people thinking. A photographer’s job is to convey your message visually. This is not something I was able to do right off the bat. I believe the eye is to photography what the ear is to music. An artist must train their eye to get good results. This takes a lot of shooting. I am of the belief no one has a good eye from picking up their first camera. There are a lot of factors to consider and those can’t be learned overnight.
To empower my subjects is my goal is my model work I shot poses that normally I would have stayed away from in the series I usually don’t look for the Damsel in Distress type of poses. In this set, I instructed the model to give me submissive facial expressions and body language. I also shot from above and I usually stay lower to the ground. Victoria did a fantastic job. I would like to thank her for traveling all the way from St. Petersberg.
In my photography, I try to offer something different. Being a woman it’s much more important to me to empower instead of to show a submissive female. I’m looking for Fierce. I’m always looking for experienced models to shoot when making my art. If you feel like you have something to offer contact me at Darcy@darcydelia.com
